17 and sentenced to die – New feature documentary

Produced in collaboration with Sohail Yafat and Rimmel Mohydin of Justice Project Pakistan (JPP), “17 And Sentenced To Die” tells the story of a JPP investigator’s efforts to get to the truth behind a young man’s indictment for murder. Saad Sarfraz Sheikh worked with me as an assistant and second camera.

Filmed earlier this year–I was the writer, in-the-field producer, sound engineer and videographer, and produced with the help of the excellent team at the New Media Advocacy Project (N-MAP) in New York, led by Madeleine May, the film is only the latest of a series of productions that highlight the serious problems with the use of capital punishment in Pakistan.
